Hello All, I have a small problem
I bought an 87, 325es at a salvage auction. I want to fix it up and use it but it has no keys!! Does anyone know how to remove the ignition lock cyl without the key? I went to bmw and bought a new cyl and asked the service guy how to get out the old one. He went and talked to the tech and came back and said they could do it but would not tell me how to do it.Please help, Thanks[/b]

Give the dealer your VIN and show proof of ownership. They will make you a new key for $25 or so. Will take 1 week or less.

A sharp drill bit and a hack saw or buy a complete lock set from another breaker in the parts section - already sold mine for Ԛ£50, worth a try??

3 yr old son lost my keys to my 318is. Car was outside front door had to break into it to move it. Only way i could get it out was to remove entire steering column. This way you can see what your doing, then got a replacement set of lock and column from breakers. Column was reasonable and saved alot of hassle trying to get old ignition out. 8) hope this helps.

if you have new key, it may well be the one but could just be really stiff, try carbon lock powder in the lock and wiggle the key it should free up, when i had new key on my old 320i it took few attempts to work locks due to new key in worn locks but the carbon powder does the trick.
