Hi,
Being a bit of newbie you will have to excuse my rather naive questions for a while..

Have just bought a 1990 318is which has been converted to a 2.7 (with auto rad ?) but it needs an oil cooler really and so I was just wondering if ANY of the ones off a e30 325 will just bolt on or will I need a certain age/model one ?

Is this a nightmare job or something even a klutz such as myself could attempt...

And if anyone has a suitable one sale with associated pipes etc. I'd be very interested in buying it

325 oil cooler will fit on a M20B27 block as long as you use the matching oil filer mount/oil thermostat.
Can't recall, sitting here, how the cooler mounts to the body, but I don't think there's any sxtra welded brackets on the body that the iS shell won't have.

To save any confusion it's an M20B25 block and the rad was originally from an auto but eventually replaced for a manual one.

There are 2 type's of oil cooler, early and late. If originally a 318 would it have the fixing's in the chassis to take the brackets?
Saying that when I bought mine the oil cooler was fixed with cable ties, so I'm sur there is a way.

All pre-facelift cars have the mounting holes for the early type cooler. All post-facelift cars have the mounting holes for both early and late coolers.

It's just a case of getting the correct mounting screws/body nuts/rubber spacers etc for the type of cooler you get.

I have an early oil cooler on my 1990 2.7 conversion.

Cheers,
