How much fuel is it actually using for those 230 miles? As in how much does it take to brim it?
& what sort of driving is that from?

get similar in both my sport and 320cabby, less if the bA/C on in summer!!
also of course depends on where and how you drive. ie. 60mph all on motorway will get loads more miles than caning the arse off it round twisty roads, but i am sure no zoners do that!

20 quid gets me 150 mile ish.mines got bbtb and zone chip.
that .auto will use more.if its manual think you need to have a look.
binding brakes
tyre pressures
coolant temp sensor.blue ecu
basic service items,plugs,leads,cap,arm,valve clearances,
obviously fuel leaks.
what is your diff ratio.how many rpm top gear at 70 mph?

Alpina C2.5 manual = 240-260 miles on 50L(22-23mpg). Depends on the type of driving and duration etc, but that's a longterm average on plenty of mixed driving.
325i Auto = 220-240 miles on roughly 50L, doing the same sort of driving.
Both cars can manage 26-28 mpg at reasonable motorway speeds, anything 90mph+ starts to eat into fuel economy!

what size tank is a touring? 325? I just drove to redditch and back, got roughly 250miles before the red zone.. so close to 280 when the light comes on. I think I do have a sticky brake. How to fix this?

My Tech1 Sport would manage 320 miles from Grimsby to Bournemouth (when I was a student type)... and I never used to hang around. 80 - 90mph most of the way, with fast blasts in between.
230 isn't very good.

I was chuffed last week - I got 260 before the light came on in my Touring. Its been 220-230 up till now. Then again the fuel gauge doesn't work properly, so i'm just hoping the fuel light is accurate!
(always take a can!)

I just got my 325i sport H reg (swapped for a N reg Micra Super S) the car needs some work, oil leaks fuel filler neck and fuel hose replacing.
When I got it it was using about £20 to do 130 miles

and that was all motorway. After noticing a smell of fuel when driving hard looked at it and the fuel return hose of the pressure regulator was pourous changed all the fuel hose in the engine bay and now I do the same journey on £12 and round town its a million times better.
It was mostly leaking when gear changing which is when the fuel regulator dumps lots of fuel down the return.
To check this start the engine then squeeze the fuel return pipe and if buggered it will weep around the unions to the regulator.
Hope this helps, my mate used to work as a BMW technition and he said the e30 6 cylinder engines murder there fuel lines all the time due to the extra heat in the engine bay.

62 miles to £10 in M40 316i

chuffed!
If I drive like a flower I can expect 100 miles to £10 but it's tedious!

Hey fairy boy, how come you got 11 points for two speeding offences? I thought that you only get 3 points for speeding. What were you doing?
