zone chip

hi ppl, dont know whether its just my chip or they r meant to do this but....

the car dosent idle at 900rpm, it idles at 700rpm.

this is why i think it makes it very difficult to pull off from a standstill, you see i need to give it good revs to get it to stop from stalling

the car has a very "floody" feeling and coughs and splutters all the time when cold.

apart from this the power increase at 2-3k is very good.. but unfortunatly i have put the original chip back in as i know im gonna smash the car up soon bcuz i am constantly stalling it or racing up someones arse as i finally get a biting point..

i know its a wild chip, but i didnt think it was a rockweiler!! lol

plz ant if ur on respond to this thread.

Is this when the car is warm? I think you need to ajust the throttle/ throttle position switch / or the throtle idle screw. But if it goes back to 900rpm when you put the other chip back in then it may be the chip>

yh it acts very "floody" even when its hot...in the descritpion ant said that it should automatically go to 900rpm (instead of the standard 700rpm)

i would get a better ride if it self adjusted to 900rpm as i wouldnt have to keep revving it all the time whilst wanting to move off from a standing start.

Clean out the ICV , and put a new temp sender in the head, the chip cant give its best if there are issues with the mechanicals, take you less than 10 minutes to do both items man, gotta be worth the effort?

std idle is 690 rpms, so 700 should be no problem, if in doubt send it back to me and I'll double check the speced speed for you dude !

I only do 900rpms idle on request BTW, did you request this to be so ?

sure thing bud ill get right on the case, dont know much about the workings of the engine ya see.

deffo worth the effort and ill see what results i get.

nope i didnt ask for the idle to be rose to 900rpm just thought that was standerd procedure.

anyway thanks for replying ant.

my chip is a mild and idles at about 700rpm's, the best thing about this chip is the overall driveability, superb, really smooth and loads of torque. I think you need the car running proper before you chip it.

I got the wild chip, and it idles at 1000rpm I thought this was standard for the wild chip.
It idles at 700 with the normal chip in.

should idle @ 890 rpms Widge, 900 is close enough on the tach

check the TB has not been tampered with in all cases.quite common for the base setting to be altered by fred in a shed trying to get a smoother idle

It's got a BBTB on but TBH it needs a damn good service, and I'm sure the inlet side is sucking air around the ICV or somthing, I'm gonna replace all the hoses and the temp switch, it's just waiting till Uni easter Hols to do it.
