Genleman, my ride is an E30 1989 325i engine, I have been using all this while W8LRC and worked fine,

During my last change, the workshop told me W8DC is the correct spark plug and forced me to install.

I dont notice any difference in Performance, but I certainly not my fuel consumption has increased quite a lot.

Is my observation correct or I am just imagining things and W8DC is perfectly fine?

Please correct me.

thank you,

i would have taken my business elsewhere, they can't force you to do sh*t!
if you refer to your BMW manual the Bosch w8lcr is recommended...

The spark plug's that are fitted now are of a different make but should'nt make much difference. They may be a slightly different grade of spark plug as for the writing on them but the number has'nt changed and should be ok.
Stick the other one's back in see if they make a difference.

I installed the W8LCR in the engine today and took the car for a Kms 100 ride, and sure enough it works fine and I got my Fuel consumption back to normal.

Phew .. next time I will punch the fellow who tell me to change the spark plug to a different number

:x

thank you all
