E30 Zone

Greetings - I wonder if someone could advise ? I had my ‘89 325i roof replaced and the interior latch repaired - however, it seems that they did not replace the plastic caps on the back of the handle that keep the cables in place - so the top cable has popped out.
In order to put it back in, I’m guessing I have to unclip the other ends to give me enough free play?
Any advice gratefully received!
