E30 Zone

Hi still struggling to get the car back to some sort of standard spec but seem to be failing around every corner.

The latest little problem is that the square peg does not pop up when the key is out. I can lever it up and when I turn the key it goes down, but always stays down even with the key out. Is there some sort of leaf spring inside that popos the peg up and can this be replaced or changed.

Have you tried lubricating it? Some light silicone oil or similar should help...

Thanks for the reply. Yes all lubricated and quite free but still refuses to pop up. Just wondered if there was a spring or perhaps it’s levered up from the lock and something in the lock is broken.
