E30 Zone

Hi all just about to put the steering column back on and I’ve noticed some nuts between the bracket and column. To me they don’t look original and wondered if was an attempt to lower the column. Any help much appreciated

Are the fracture bolts still in tact?
Could be a DIY spacer to move the steering column a little lower?

Hi thanks for your reply, no the shear bolts are gone and I’ve managed to find some photos showing how it should be with no spacer nuts to lower the column. So dilemma sorted thanks.
