Hi all,

I'm currently working through fitting ac to my car and have a question regarding the ac lines inside the cabin.

Do the lines need to run in behind the pedal box? I can't seem to get them to match up between the heater box and the hole in the bulkhead. It looks like there is some space behind the pedal box that is currently filled with foam

Don't want to pull the pedal box out if I don't have to do just want to make sure its right first!

You definitely dont need to remove the pedals to get them in

OK Thanks Dan, Good to know. Just really struggling to get everything to line up correctly at the heater box end and also through the hole in the bulkhead! I'll give it another go.

Does anyone happen to have a photo of their footwell with AC lines installed on showing how the pipes route around the pedals etc?

Hi, I already have A/C installed, but retrofitted to suit R134a. Which meant swapping out the R12 hoses for barrier hoses.

I have an auto & RHD so this means a bit more clearance around the pedal box. It is possible to mount be & refit the lines but it’s very very tight.
If I was doing it again, I would move the pedals for improved access.

The barrier hoses go above the steering column and pedal linkages. Don’t have clear photos - just the ones in my build thread showing the heater box insulation.

Yeah, mine is manual and it definitely feels like the clutch master cylinder is what's getting in the way! I managed to get the grommet off the 2 pipes so I can work with them individually, and can get the smaller hose to fit (just) but its pressing against the return spring for the clutch. Having less luck with the larger hose but will keep trying!
