Hi All,

Does anyone know how the fader switch pinouts (A1, A2, S1, S2, E1, E2) correspond to the plug (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)? I have a switch, but no plug.

Cheers

It is unusual that Bmw dont have corresponding numbers on the switch to match the wiring diagram. I cant answer the question but I'm wondering if you are fitting a retro system or just using the switch as a dummy light on the dashboard.

I was thinking I could use it in a way to act as a volume control rather than a fader.
I only have a BT receiver behind the dash, no HU, which uses RCA’s to feed a couple of amps, I have a volume controller (bottom left, below the HVAC), but want to try getting something into an OEM switch position.
On further thought, I don’t think it’s doable with the fader, using one half of it was what I had in mind.

There is a lot of discussion on the fader switch on the Rv3 limited forum as regards deleting it and wire colour connections to the head unit, speakers and amp but no explanation of the actual switch reference numbers. You can search it without having to join. I like the dials on your console--much more interesting than the ashtray. Thanks for reply.
