Touring - water in both rear compartments

I just had a touring delivered

After washing it, there is a lot of water in the rear compartments. The car has been stood up for over a year and I didn't check them before I washed it. The left side with the jack was almost full the top and the jack looks like its been sat in water for some time. The other side wasn't as bad but still enough to need a sponge to get it out.

The tubes that connect the drain from the sunroof to the flappy outside things, look to be ok.

How is it getting in there and why is it staying in there?

Rear pillar trims have probably been removed at some point. They need new seals every time.

Also check the rear light seals, these are known to break down & let water in,

Add the gaskets for the "flappy outside things" to the list, any rust bubbles on the RH inner wheel arch is a leak, and also check the seal for the rear hatch with a strip of paper. Hinges and catch are adjustable.
Dry it all out, liberally shake talcum powder around the suspect areas, and make with the hosepipe again.
