The part that controls idle RPM is broken

Hi. Since a few weeks, my 325e (85) started running weird when it was cold. The first few minutes it keeps almost dying on me, but never actually does. The RPM is too low.
My mechanic said we need a new idle RPM part. Sorry I'm not sure how to call it in English, but it makes your RPM stay at a steady level while the engine is cold. However, we've been looking for weeks now and can't find it. Any tips?

The part that you need is an Idle Control Valve (ICV).
Go to
https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select ... &archive=1 and type your VIN (7 last digits) on the "serial number" box in order to find the correct part number for your car.
It's an easy but expensive fix if you decide to install the OEM valve. I'd suggest that you find a mechanic who'll be able to clean the valve (it's relatively easy)

Got a call this morning from my mechanic. He found the part number for me, it's 13411709898 . I just told him about cleaning the valve, he told me he had already tried this prior. Sadly I'm gonna need a whole new ICV. They are quite difficult to get by, it seems.

If anyone has an ICV (13411709898) laying around that I can buy, let me know!

Have you tried asking for it in the parts request section?

Thanks guys. I found this one and ordered it, so waiting on delivery now
https://www.koedbmw.com/nl-nl/product/13411707395.
I tried unplugging my current ICV and the idle RPM went up for a few seconds, and then died down again. That kinda proves (I think) that the current ICV is completely botched. Cleaning made no difference. Also putting your hand on the ICV while the key is in second to last ignition state, it doesn't tick/click or make any noise at all.

The part number on the link you sent is different from the one you are looking for. I hope you are aware of that!

Yeah but I called them up and they said it would work both ways. If not, I could swap it for the right one (they have both in stock). Thanks for the heads-up!

I've put in the new ICV and the car idles beautifully again.
