Indicator help

My e30 indicator started ticking faster than usual when I try to indicate left.
After reading a few posts online it seemed like it was an indication that a bulb is blown/about to blow.
I have found that the front left indicator light is not working, and replaced the bulb but not luck.

A few more online posts said that it could be either,
1. the bulbs
2. hazard switch
3. indicator relay
4. indicator stick.

All the other indicator lights work, so was confused as to which it could be. Was wondering if anyone has any ideas on which one it could be to help me shortlist it down - at least I know its not the bulb. Otherwise I will just change it all and hope for the best.

Appreciate any thoughts!

Clean the lamp socket and check the wiring to it. Use a known working lamp to test it.

It is much more likely to be a problem with the bulb or its holder than anything else, concentrate on that as BenHar suggests. Very often electrical problems are caused by an earthing fault, try running a length of cable from a good earth point, as on the O/S from suspension tower and poke it at the outside metal case of the bulb.

Had that problem, turned out to be the two pin connector to the bulb holder and corrosion in the bulb holder.
