E30 Zone

Hi, this morning went to pick up M3 from the garage ,loss of power (generator thought) The was no fuel in the tank so we run it bit dry on fuel stared chockin' ,well we realised that ,went to the garage to get some more ,5L to be precise .Tried again ,,,no luck ,,, went to the garage again ( maybe it needed more than 5L,) SO IT'S 10L now in the tank ,more than anough, steel no luck, removed the main leed to the distributor ,Spark is OK ,
can it be the fuel pump fuse?
or the fuel pump itself?
What fuse is resposible for the fuel pump i mean where exactely is situated in the fuse box
coz chap inthe garage has the BOSCH stand but it's says that it can't give any info cozz the car is too old and i donn't know what to do,my mate is gutted, and some more the chap in the garage told that it was missin' last night ( CAN IT BE THAT THE FOLTY GENERATOR BE THE REASON FOR DAMAGIN ECU UNIT ?) not enough energy at the first place
,bad burn , effects ECU or its just me talkin' a lot of rubbish
all morning we've been tryin' to start it ,battery gone flat, we now using jump leads ,or should we just leave it and wait for your advice
guys . Thanks if is any chance to help with advice ,please don't hasitate.
P.S we have Skype on the PC and nic is (andrestaln) so if that can be usefull,

i,m no major expert but the basics say rule out each possible step

you checked for a spark. so electrics ok if spark strong enough

next check petrol going to the injectors. try this if fuel going here then check if fuel chambers smell of petrol ( ie on plugs)

how low was you on petrol . light on for long time or just low.

the light on the petrol tank was on at the time we tried to start it.The car went on for couple of sec and died ,we've been tryin for 2 -3 min in the row,but nothing happend, checked spark ,is ok , fuel pump seems ok , cozz when the egnition is off it goes pssss like pressure 's been released,
can the timing be disturbed or i don't know how to describe it in proper words ,sorry english it's not my native lenguage , my maty is british but he hasn't got a clue how to work with PC (collaboration of two of us gives the chance to communicate with outside world

wich one is responsible for the fuel pump?

AS i say it's my mate's car , the chap is gutted , we don't have alot of knolege all we lern is mainly comes from you ;lads and the E net
so do't be too harsh on us , he was savin for 2 years on this beauty and its just not right for me not to help ,that's why i'm talking on his behaf
