Rear top mounts

So yesterday, somewhere towards the rear N/S, started to rattle over every single bump. I had a quick check and looks like the top mount has perished slightly.
I did read about some E30 owners adding a top mount plate like that on the Z3.
Wanted some opinions as to whether it's worth it?
It's 316i which won't see any heavy footed driving.

when it comes time to replace the rear top mounts whether is a 316i or an S54 engined touring most fit e46 m3 cabby top mounts along wuth the z3 reinforcement plates.
is it worth it? hard to say but for peace of mind that they wont need doing for a long times sways most folk.

Appreciate the response. I didn't realise a E46 part would fit. I know parts between E30s, M3 and e36s' would.

no worries, you can get them off ebay for about £15 a pair & same for the Z3 plates.

I’ve just replaced my top mounts ( and shocks) with E46 bits. My old ones looked okay, but when I had a proper inspection they were completely buggerated. The job is easy. I bought a pair of Z3 reinforcement plates but they will not fit onto my cabriolet so they are yours for £12 if you want them.
