Whats the best way to get this off and changed. The haynes says its a prop off job but I am sure you can do this without. Could someone offer a step-by-step for getting it off and changed. its on an E30 '89 325i if that makes any difference.
Cheers, Andy

Unbolt the 6 retaining bolts, loosen the sleeve half way down the prop, slide the front half of the prop towards the rear of the car having unbolted the centre bearing carrier and remove the donut.
Replace and then reverse procedure (although there's some preloading of the sleeve required upon re-assembly)
Enjoy

I'm doing an engine swap at the moment and I've noticed that my rubber dohnut has small cracks in it is this normal or a sign of wear?

cheers all for the help. Doughnut was properly mangled. All changed and refitted. Easy as. Haynes and their 3 spanner job - ha
