M20 Running issue/Misfire

Hi All,
I have 320i that runs fine when driven normally but when full throttle is applied it gets to 4000rpm then starts popping and spluttering, if I let off and ease back in with the throttle to about half way it powers through it.
Any ideas? Do my injectors need a refurb?
Kind regards,
Tom

Which year is your car/is it a pre-facelift chrome or a facelift with the ABS bumpers?

It's a 1987 pre-facelift.

I've got the same fault but opposite way round, everything under 2000rpm runs sh1t anything above it flys,Brian moooore seem to think it could have something to do with the throttle position switch(TPS).

Don't suppose you could point me to it's location so I can have a look?

I read someone. " if your cam lubes are worn car won,t reach top end revs "
check you camshaft for wear.
your have to remove the rocker cover to do this and new gasket is recommended.

its under the throttle body. remove the rubber intake between a.f.m and T.B. to gain access.

Also check the cam belt isn't one tooth out - I had a similar problem when I had a branch of Halfords change the belt on a 1984 pre-facelift 320i.
