M54 Swap

Going to be starting m54 swap soon into my 323.
Just wanting input on pitfalls or anything you'd do differently if to do it again.
Any other mods you'd do at same time, but I'm wanting to keep it as stock looking as possible especially in the engine bay, so what's best cooling method?
