Alternater problem

Hi, havin' a problem with an alternater , could you help with advice ,
will any other alternater fit or i have to buy the M3 e30 215 bhp one ?

Alright, this should be in the tech help section mate, this is "part's for sale" you will get a better responce from there,

and describe what sort of problem you are having, it could be that the brushes just need changing? :thumb:

Well its just doest drive properly , we gave it to the lad to have a look ,he seemed like fixed it , but within 2 weeks it started al over again,
so i'm just wondering , do i have to buy m3 215 bhp alternator 158 kw or will it be ok for example 325 or not ? thanks ,for helping me stupid :D

it could be the main bearing that is failing, i could be wrong,

and im not too sure the altonator fits from a 325i, could be costly buying an M3 altonator 8O you might find one in the for sale, but i cant remember the last time i seen one for sale

right i'v just checked the part numbers for the 325i altonator and the M3 one and the numbers are diffrent, so i would say you need another M3 alt mate,
