Front top mounts

When fitting strut what orientation should the indent on the top mount be facing?

They point in to the engine bay, so that the right hand top mounts indent is aimed at the left sides.
If that makes sence?

When you look at them the stud spacing looks roughly equal, but its not meaning they align themselves.
