Indicator relay clicks when I push the stalk forward

Hello,

I recently got a 91 e30 316i lux. The left indicator was not working. After some searching I found that it was the indicator stalk mechanism that was the issue. So I ordered a new one and replaced it today, which fixed the issue. However now when I even slightly push forward on the indicator stalk as if I'm going to put the full beam on, it activates the indicator relay and I can hear the clicking noise.

Does anybody have any idea on what could be causing this new issue?

Thanks
Mitch

another faulty unit ? put the other stalk on and see if the problem persists as your only testing the main beam, if not you know your replacement is fubard as well

As above. Unless it's something silly and unlikely, like you've managed to trap and damage a wire, I can't see how it can be anything else.
