Clutch Release

Hi,
I have started to encounter a problem with my 325i cutch. When releasing the clutch the biting point seems to be really low down near the floor. The clutch pedal also feels like it is coming up half way and then struggles to come up to the top. Almost like there is some sort of resistance.
Any ideas where to start?
