Hi guys hope all are well.

I am about to re- fit the new tank and the rusted (now clean) filler neck.

There's a braided type hose that was literally crumbling -

It's threaded through a hole in the arch- has any one replaced this pipe ?? It looks like a tight squeeze to get the pipe in the hole ( lol normally not a bad thing)

I think it connects to the top of the tank.

Please advise

The vent pipe you refer to is a fairly common failure, and is an unusual size, so it needs to come from BMW.
You won't get the braided pipe through on its own - you need to take out the smaller plastic pipes as well, which should be taped to the braided one. Once they're all out, clean all the crud from the tube, deal with any rust, and replace all three pipes together.
All the connections at the tank end are accessible through the hatch in the rear seat pan.

Hi Brian,
I wish i' d read this before trying to pull the hose.. :x :?

The tank(old type) is not down (trying to save hassle) and i am really struggling with this hose.
The old hose has torn by the wheelwell outlet. So i have no means to pull it ouy that way.

Ive seen the hose comes into the car at a 90 degree bend,,
Am i screwed?

The hose will not budge for shit.
