Tonight i bought a 1992 316i auto Touring Se for Ԛ£650 with 6 months M.O.T, it has 95,800 miles on the clock. The body is immaculate. There is no history with the car but it seems to drive very, very well and although not a rocket it isn't that slow.

What things should i check\do to the car? I was a bit dubious about buying an auto are they reliable on BMW's?? I have owned other e30's before but never an auto.

Can somebody put my mind at rest? Was it a good price i paid??

Other beemers i have owned:

730i 323i 320i 316 carb and now 316i tourer :D

cheers

John

Thanks for the replys guys, fecking good website

The bloke said he'd not driven it for the last 2 months (they all say that) and that it could do with a good service.

One thing though, when i first drove it the box was nice and smooth round the country lanes, but when i got her upto 80 on the motorway it felt a bit lumpy when it went into fourth. This cleared when i accelerated past 80. Could this just be lack of use or is it Fuck***

cheers,

John
