E30 Zone

Hey guys, I have a mate who's 88 320i won't start, it's cranking but there is no fuel and no spark. I read on here that the crank sensor gives that symptom so I got one for it. Fitted it and no difference. So I checked the pump it's working when you give it power but the wiring doesn't show 12v wen you crank. I checked for 12v at the coil and that's good, so I swapped the coil out of my own 325 but made no difference still no spark or fuel. I checked the wiring from the ign switch right across to the fuse box all ok. I even swapped my own ecu but they are different so I borrowed one for a 320i but again no difference.

There's a black box in the right hand kick panel I dunno what it does, anyone kno what it's for? Also which relay is for the fuel pump? The three relays on their own I think is one of them?....
Any help guys pls cos I've often had no fuel or no spark but never both together!!

Does the ICV buzz when you turn the ignition on?

ICV doesn't buzz no. I'll use the trouble shooting link. Thanks guys

This is where I would start. No power here fits the symptoms.
The ignition switch only provides power to the ignition coil and a signal to the ECU instructing it to turn on. The main power to the engine ( and pin 30 of the relay) comes direct from the battery + terminal via one of the smaller red wires bolted to the battery clamp.
