323i won't start

Hi all. I'm after some help. I'm trying to get a 1985 523i started which has been in a garage for 16yrs. I have replaced the spark plugs, and there is a good spark, had all the injectors out and they all seem to operate as they should with fuel spurting out nicely. However, when you put it all back together the thing won't start. It seems to fire on one cylinder (blackened spark plug contacts) but that is all.
I have put oil into the cylinders to try and lubricate the cylinders to increase the compression.
I have looked at all the hoses and they are in good condition with no noticeable cracks.
I have read about the crank position sensor and the ECU but if there is a good spark I assumed the ECU is ok.
Can anyone make any suggestions as what to look at next?
Thanks
