Just noticed quite a bit of oil on my air filter heat shield. Removed afm and pipes and oil in afm and throttle body. I assume there shouldn't be oil there and wondered where it could be coming from. Any help would be gratefully received.

The main breather from the crankcase is routed to the TB and will pull up the odd bit of oil now and again.
Once up in the TB any "excess" will gradually worm its way down the intake bellows and collect around the air filter, with a std airbox its not uncommon to find a small amount of oil in the bottom

Seems I have oil coming through inlet manifold ports 4,5 & 6, does this mean head gasket or valve seals or similar?

Not positive on this one but my mate over filled his punto sporting with oil one time, he ended up with oil coming out the his air filter.
it was just the build up of pressure as there was too much oil in it and it just blew most of his seals.
im not saying its the same reason but it sounds similar. have you checked oil level or changed it recently?

oil was changed last week, I thought it seemed to take more than recommended, may be an air lock somewhere will start again.
cheers faor that, never crossed my mind.
