Oi Oi
I'm currently replacing the main bearings and conrod bearings on my M60 and wondered what the colours of the shells ment when the tolerances were the same?

Like seen here

The green white and yellow are all different sized further to the standard and oversized

So you have standard sized, in 3 different sizes

+0.25mm oversized in 3 different sizes

+0.5mm in 3 different sizes

etc etc

I cant remember the actual size stages but a google search should find them

The blue and red big ends are simply just top and bottom

from what iv found so far after hours of searching,
the crank should be marked with a colour dot which denotes the colour of shell/bearing which needs to be used. I need to confirm this though.

these are what my bearings look like, what do you recon?

Defo change the big ends, you can see the coating is wearing through on that first one

well it came in at £611 for main bearings, big end bearings and a set of new crank cap bolts 8O

might need to look for alternate options :(

The big ends are not normally massively expensive, and thats your priority

Yea the main doesn't look too bad but if you look in the picture you can see slight wear so I'd thought id replace the lot not knowing the cost a˜“
I have some plastigauge coming tomorrow so I can check the tolerances. Should be too far out as Iv caught this pretty early
