Hi all, I have a 1987 pre facelift cabby with the early bullseye headlights.. Can replace them to new lights without spending a fortune on OEM and wondered if I could use an aftermarket replacement for the later models? The loom on my lights have a three and two pin set up and the think the new ones are all two... Is there any way at all I can get the soldering iron out, sort this and upgrade lights to the later model lights?? Any help would be very appreciated. Thanks Justin

Changing from the early 'facelift' lights, known as 'bull'seyes' to the later lights, known as 'smilies' is a direct swap. Only the front part of the dipped beam lights is different.
If you mean you want to change from pre facelights to post facelift lights, then you need the complete light units, in their frames, plus the plugs to the lights ans several inches of wire, plus heatshrink sleeving and a soldering iron.
The difference in wiring is very small - just two separate earths on one set up being combined into a single earth on the other.
