Sport Steering Wheel

Right, I have checked Wiki, but cannot locate a specific answer.
What size is the steering wheel supposed to be on my early tech 2 sport?
I have the older style steering wheel, that I actually like very much, but the leather has lost its buoyancy and the horn springs stick so I can't beep when I want sometimes. The consequences of this are probably better for the balance of harmony on the roads in SW London, but that's not the point.
On that note - I know that the leather can be replaced (I have read about a great place in Suffolk that does a good job), but can the horn buttons be disassembled and replaced?
