Hi,
As above what options do I have for a e30 318is exhaust?
Mine is rotten/soft/old/leaking from front pipe back in various places
The only ones I have seen avalible is a bosal rear box and a jetex half system!
Really, is that all there is ?
Can't afford new bmw dealer stuff (£500++!)
Is there much bore difference in for a 318i compared to the 318is and would it even line up?
Thought I'd ask what's out there else it's universial backbox and patching........which I really really want to avoid!
Ta in advance

Not much available here for the iS as they were only made for a short time. There are some available in the US as they only got the M42 engine, but shipping is a pain.
The 318i exhaust won't match up to the manifold and is 1/4" smaller bore.
Where did you find a Bosal rear box?

Mr exhaust website, bosal rear box goes all the way to the back of two bolt flange towards the downpipe.
I'll have a look at yank sites see how much shipping could be.
I just want something standard sounding not boomy and raspy.... Done that!

Just looked it up, does cover 80% of my problem may be able to save the downpipe.
Just didn't want overly noisey system, and this looks smaller than the massive bosal unit I took off.
Apparently it's very restrictive at the back box .
Thanks!

Prob going to go with the jetex option, I had enough of noisey exhausts 5 years ago when I had my m40'd 318i.... That was loud for a uni back box!

Bosal are said to be a OEM supplier to BMW.
I have a Powerflow exhaust off my old IS for sale if you're interested. It's not too loud but clearly doesn't produce a standard note. It burbles a fair bit on idle.
I'll dig out some photos if you're interested..
Here's link of the engine running with the Powerflow exhaust, it's a bit tediously long, there's a little footage at the end taken from the rear box..

No they're not. Boysen and Eberspacher are the OE manufacturers. Bosal are cheap junk like Walker and Timax/Klarius etc.

Bosal and klarias do seem to be the better ones out of a bad bunch... Anyway ..
G bear: did look at the vid does not seem to be overly noisey, did have a powerflow on a previous car and one of the silencers had the baffles go (it did take four years mind)
Does the system include a downpipe too (from manifold join) or is it just from the two bolt flange (from downpipe to system silencers)
I am still welding the sorry turd up so could be a while before I need it ....(it's off road al fresco workshop style).
I would be interested in pics & How much would you want for it ..

My apologies, I knew Eberspacher was OEM, I must have got Boysen and Bosal in a muddle.

From what I remember I think its just the rear box and pipes to the middle of the car, the front section is BMW. I'll double check, its still attached to the car. I'll have some time to look tomorrow.
But in the mean time I should have some more pics. PM me your email and I'll send them over.
