Front indicators not working.

I'm guesing this'll be a relatively simple fix, but electronic fault diagnosis isn't really my strong point. What I know:
- The front indicators don't work from the stalk or from the hazard button.
- The rest of the indicators work, flashing at double speed when indicating and normal speed when using the hazard button.
- On the offside connection, I get a few hundredths of a volt betweet the pin sockets but get roughly 12 volts when earthing it to the bumper shock bolt.
- The nearside is also showing a few hundredths of a volt between the connectors, but earthing makes no difference.
- All other lights work (main beams, high beams, dipped), including boot, number plate, interior, etc.
- Bulbs are intact.
The first thing that comes to mind would be the connectors are corroded, as they've not been attached for about a year. I've given them a quick flush with some brake cleaner and some wd40 and a toothbrush, with no luck. I thought it could be a bad earth at one of the connections, but don't the other lights share the same earth?
Also one of the indicator housings doodads shows no continuity with the bulb fitted, but the individual components all do, which would lead me to think the contacts aren't touching the bulb but I have pulled them out as much as I can so they should be touching, any ideas?
Cheers.
