E30 Zone

I've got an M40 318i with the usual cam rattle and a bit of a head gasket leak and have the chance to nab a head from an 8v E36 318i - will the E36 head fit straight on the E30 block?

I think it should do, but if it doesnt, i have an excellent cam for sale!

Just had a look on the ETK and the part numbers for the cylinder head between E30 318i M40 and E36 318i M40 are identical.
