E30 Zone

How does one go about replacing it? Mine has broken off at the bottom where it meets the carpet/floor. removed carpet but remaining plastic piece is connected the the floor(sill). New one is £35 off flea bay but not sure how to fit. Any ideas?

I'm sure they are cheaper at the dealers than that. Or I have one here VGC for £17.50 posted

Just lever the old piece off, or you could carefully cut it with a chisel and it will fall off. either way it should not put up too much of a fight.

I'm sure there's a good living to be made by buying brand new parts from BMW and selling them on ebay at a large mark up!
Should be around £12 brand new from a BMW dealer.
The one piece plastic pedal pushes into a shallow rectangular steel frame welded to the floor pan, and is located by three (IIRC) plastic snap in catches (all part of the one piece) which clip into three small rectangular holes around the perimeter of the frame.
Push a suitably sized flat blade screwdriver into one of the slots, under the plastic and lever it upwards. Push the tab in with another screwdriver if necessary.
The pedals are intended by BMW to be replaced with a new one every time they're removed, but in practice, if car is taken, they can be reused many times.
