yes you can do thatAparently you can just swap the switch cover from a heated rear window switch into a hazard switch and it works. Never tried it like this though.

The Hazard Switch has 8 Connetors on the back, the heated screen switch has 4.oze30 wrote:Then what are the rest of the wires out the back of the plug (window) for? If I remember, the hazard has less wires. Eitehr way.. I'm going to do this mod right now! ;)

Switch covers are swappable
The extra wire is needed to supply the voltage to the switch for the dimmed light.
You bring the spade, I will get hold of the switch's......I can see a trip to furbers! Tomorrowkam-325i wrote:Atleast a hazard switch to butcher, but a spare heated screen one aswell, just in case, also a spare spade connector for the heated screen.
Well here, the rear de-mister switch does not light up!Jordan wrote:Someone please explain this modification to me?
My defroster switch already lights up, and dims with the dash lights.
So does the one in my girlfriends 89 325i...
As standard, the rear heated screen switch is not illumminated when you switch on the lights, only when the switch is in the "On" position.Jordan wrote:Someone please explain this modification to me?
