Hi Guys,

As per above I was hoping that some one can point me in the right direction with my latest headache.

The donor car for the engine was a South African built 325i automatic 4 door sedan that had air/con, cruise control, ele/windows.

The engine wiring harness that came with the engine has 15 pins in the multi pin plug that plugs into the female multi pin plug next to the fuse box on my car, my concern is that the multi pin plug on my 318i on has 12 pins and I am reluctant to just plug it in as I do not want to risk damaging the engine ecu or the fuse box !!!

Any suggestions ????

PS thanks everyone for all the comments on my gearbox issue they were a great help

Thanks Dan The for your response......

Wish I was closer to you so I could buy you a beer or 2 (ha ha)

I have checked pin 20 on both the harness & the car side, the harness has a brown wire going to pin 20... however on the car side pin 20 is empty no wire or terminal.

So if I understand you correctly I dont have to worry about cutting the brown wire on the harness... is that correct ???

Just plug it all in and she if she starts ???
