E30 Zone

Right, read everything I can on here and Im still nonplussed as to why my central locking is not working.
I had a few issues so did the red/black mod and changed the CL ECU and still no working CL. The car is dead locked, Ive managed to get the passenger door open using the key in lock and jiggle the handle trick but it remains steadfastly locked apart from that. Teh ECU is clicking as it should be, so all looks well there, it just seems the main CL is not triggering the openign of any doors
Ideas please would be really helpful, thanks in advance

have you tried from the boot lock ?

mine plays up sometimes if I use the doors but always works on the boot lock

Nope, none of the locks work at all, cant open the boot or the drivers door, only managed to open the passenger door by doing the turn key and waggle door handle trick
I'd be quite happy just to open the doors at the moment, as I just want to use it a bit while we still have some summer

had a similar problem myself i am afraid i cannot give acurate details but i remember having to access the speaker area drivers side front and there was something in there that needed shorting out and the central locking spang back into action...

sorry to be so vague i just hope that i may trigger something here and someone else will know what i mean ...............

Have a good search on here, its a common problem also take a look search for the Red/black mod even if it don't work for you it's a great way to gain understanding of the E30 central locking system

Thanks, had a good search hence carrying out the red/black mod and investing in another ECU just in case. But I cant find anything like this issue.
I managed to get it going beforehand by changing the ECU and applying the black/red mod but then aftre using it the passenger door failed then the whole central locking system just died and I cant anything open at all.
The ECU is trying to do its thing as its triggering when you ground out the appropriate wires, its just the motors in the doors are doing nothing, neither is the boot.
The key wont unlock any doors, nor will the door pins (althought that may be because theyre the later 'flush' type and you cant get a good hold of them)
Ive even pulled the door card off the passenger door to have a look but still cant open it
Im at hair pullign time

Sorry should have read your first post properly, I'm no expert but can only think either something is seized or the central locking modul is toast

As pac1982 has said, it sounds like you have something seized or failed. Have you strips the doors down and removed the actuators and tried the locks again? Something is obviously stopping it from working and if the ECU is fine then I'd look at the next electrical thing as well as the mechanical side of things.

Cant imagine every lock seizing at the same time, that would be incredibly co-incidental, so Im guessing it has to be electrical, not mechanical. The question is what, as Ive done all the tests that are mentioned in a lot of the threads here
