compression test any ideas

did a comp test to see what could be causing my missing when im driving the old girl only misses now and again
my results going from front of engine to bulk head and done when engine cold

dry 1)160 2)170 3)173 4)193 5)168 6)170
wet 1)170 2)190 3)190 4)205 5)202 6)181

wet means I put a tablespoon of engine oil down the chamber
its a 325i sport 1990

The test should be done with the engine warm.

All spark plugs should be removed and the throttle held open while cranking.

I wouldn't concern myself with these as they are much of the same, wet or dry.

I don't think the compression is a result of the misfire.

Could the intermittent misfire be from a knackered injector number 1 and 5 as these seem to be the two lowest readings that i have

The results you have got show that you have decent compression across the board, certainly enough not to cause a misfire. Like I said though the test needs to be done with the engine at opperating temp. The reason for this is so all the components are at their correct expansion, the pistons do not fill the bores correctly, or are even the right shape until they are up to temp.

I would be more inclined to be looking at ignition, and then fuel components for faults causing misfires.

A bit more info would help too, missing at idle? when driving? in the upper rpms?
