Hello All!
The Si board in my 1983 316 is scrap...battery acid has pretty much stripped it to pieces.
Has anyone bought on of the Programa boards? They don't list my engine...so maybe not an option, but bateryless looks awesome...

By the looks of it, he's talking about this:

I've never heard of them though, and there's no mention of them being battery-less.

One in the pic. is a lithium battery board. Batteries are underneath the warranty label.
I doubt if this will fit into an '83 cluster, which uses the older style of coding switch, although it will work with a later style cluster, correct fuel gauge for the tank and four pot coding plug.

Ah! A complete redesign using modern components and NV memory.
It's listed as for an '84 318, so I can't see any obvious reason why it wouldn't work with an '83 316.
The supplier of these is in the US, so the models listed are only those that were imported there.

Nice lady called Samantha just called to talk to me about importing these into the UK...I only asked for one!
They will do them for $125 plus shipping if anyone is interested?

Yeah...just depends how bothered you are I guess?
Ive spent £5k in the last year on maintaining an S8...this sounds pretty reasonable ;)

Also has the electronics for the tacho. and the economy gauge.
Will put more than £85 on the value of the car if you're trying to sell.

One of those "nice to have" working features, and you'd never have to solder batteries in ever again...
Guess you can't please everyone.
