iv been told the electric fan mod is easy enough to do and also gives you more power, is this true?

A good working viscous is as good as an electric and vice versa.

The viscous will sap some power when it kicks in, but an electric fan will put strain on the alternator, which in turn saps some power.... swings and roundabouts really.

An electric fan is only really necessary if you've done an engine swap and are tight for space.

You could argue that the electric fan uses more power due to the energy losses in the alternator and electric motor......but there are many variables and you wont notice the difference on the arse-dyno.

good point I never thought of it that way. and at the end of the day the viscous is the easy and original way. thanks for your reply's guys. :D
