86 25i fuel pipe layout,

if I put fuel line from filter to regulator ,its a no go,,but if I connect from filter to fuel rail she runs after a while it seems fuel drops back it then needs cranking a bit is there a fuel layout for a high compression pre face ,its now in a face lift 89

Or, to put it another way, if you connect the pipes the wrong way around it doesn't run, then, when you connect them correctly, it does run. Sounds right to me!
