Prime suspect is the SI board batteries.

ok changed battery board over from one that was ok,reving and working ,pluged into mine and nothing only when you switch off it flickers.help brian

If you've swapped the SI batteries with known good ones, and you're absolutely sure the black wire is giving a clean signal from the ECU to the clock, then either your clock itself is broken or your engine isn't actually turning.

thanks for that I understand what you have wrote,i suffer from dislexier .its hard to understand and red some stuff ,I have tried the site but some stuff wont come up I don't think I have the right hard where,i will have another go tomorrow I think the signal is trying to get through that's why the needle was jumping ,thanks again, rick
