STEP BY STEP GUIDE TO REMOVE INJECTORS

i have a set of refubished injectors for my 318 is m42

id like to try my self to replace these

if someone can give me a guide?

looked in the wiki but i need more steps by step :o: :wink:

Step 1: Puel out the fuse for the fuel pump and run the car until it dies
Step 2: Unbolt everything around the fuel rail
Step 3: Unclip any electrical connectors you can get yourhands on
Step 4: Lever fuel rail up using long screwdrivers

Take the rail to your workbench, pull of the old injectors and fit the new ones, then work backwards to Step 1.

It's not that hard. Just bear in mind that if a stiff tug doesn't disconnect something then there must still be a bolt to remove - DON'T yank your entire body weight or you'll break something.

I would strongly recommend removing the intake. When replacing mine on the M20, 2 "tips" got loose from the injector and fel down the intake. Luckily, those valves where closed...

i used a balljoint splitter to provide better leverageand grip around the injector,

The whole intake manifold? ulp.... :(
