My glovebox is stuck shut. Any ideas about how to open it?
And yes, I have checked that it's not just locked!
I only got the car last week, hopefully it's full of cash or gold or something to pay for a few upgrades...

Undo the nuts at the back holding the hinge to the bulkhead. That will allow the front to drop slightly, enough to get a cross head screwdriver in at the front to unscrew a couple of screws, which will allow the front to drop down a little further still, then you can get a small screwdriver in to push back whichever of the two hooks of the catch is broken.

Had a go at this today, following the advice above. And managed to get the glovebox forward enough to see the catches.
Unfortunately one of them was totally jammed and I couldn't shift it. I did notice that the housing for the catch was fixed to the underside of the dashboard with a bolt and two screws. After wedging myself into the footwell I found that I could reach up inside the glovebox housing and undo the 10mm bolt and two phillips head screws. You need a little stubby screwdriver and a ratchet spanner to do this as space is *tight* to say the least. (My arms are now scratched to hell from reaching inside)
After undoing them then the whole glovebox housing will drop open. (Make sure you undo the two gold coloured screws above the handle too) And hey presto you can undo the stuck catch. Mine needs replacing as part of it is snapped off. But they're available on eBay.
And all I got for my trouble was an old Leatherman, a pen, a torch, my user manual, fifteen sachets of Calpol and some Costa napkins.
