testing blue plug? removing throttle body?

ok guys still have the unstable idle only when cold. to test the bkue plug i believe u test from the ecu. does the ecu simply unbolt and disconnect the main connection? do u act have to remove to test. also plan to check air leaks under the throttle body. again it just looks to be bolted on. anything apecial or connected funny that i should b aware of. m40 1990 318i btw. cheers

Test the blue sensor at the ECU plug. Easier to remove and refit the plug if the ECU is unbolted, and the engine can be run with the ECU hanging on its wire.
Don't push your meter probes right into the buckets of the plug, since this will stretch and damage them. Use something like a couple of short lengths of 15A fuse wire to push into the buckets, and clip the neter leads to the fuse wire.
