Rear anti-roll bar drop links

Is there a technique for fitting the drop links to the rear ARB?

I'm having difficulty sliding the link on to the end of the ARB, ie the top of the drop link. I'm doing it in situ rather then removing the bar completely. The N/S took me a few hours but eventually went. The O/S rear is being a PITA.

Room is tight as I'm working behind the spring. I've tried using washing up liquide the help lube, I've tried heating the end of the droplink in hot water.

I've tried pushing on by hand but it is too tight. I've also tried trying to hook a G clamp behind the roll bar where in bends to 90 degrees to the drop link and using the clamp to slowly 'work' link on to the end of the bar but no luck.

Has anyone had a better luck with this?

Thanks Gromgsxr, that will help. It's wired but the N/S took ages then suddenly went. Having got that side done I was hoping the O/S follow suit.

Did you just push them on by hand?

Plenty washing up liquid on the rubber and they will push in by hand.

Make sure that the end of the ARB is spotlessly clean.

Thanks all

Got it fitted in the end - I managed without moving the spring but it was tight. I used a large G clamp to exert pressure on the end and then gently wiggled the drop link using my other hand to work it down the bar.

Thanks everyone for their input.
