Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I have received a tech 1 spoiler that has had the rubber painted which is starting to peel off (in places but very much stuck on in others. Anyone know of a safe way to strip the paint to restore it back to it's unpainted conditon. Most of the stuff strong enough to eat the paint would also eat the rubber but there must be a way.
I have tried picking/peeling ect but to no avail
Thanks

G3, then coat in linseed oil to protect it, be careful with the g3, when you get down to the rubber.

Thanks Matt, have used linseed oil years ago and flamable is an understatement lol. I'll try and get some G3 (scratch remover i presume)and LO and give it a try :)

i used a heat gun to get the paint off a side pod.. could try that if all else fails.. plastic was ok but don't know if the rubber would stand the heat??

Yeah that was my problem knowing how ridiculously easy it is for the rubber to damage,i used low to medium heat on it and it did nothing

you still got the damaged one? could you try more heat on that to see what it could take?

I'm also told smooth peanut butter, will bring the shine back and protect it

Try g3, or maybe a rubber scraper to rub it off without damaging the rubber ie ice scraper type thing :)
