hi i have recently aquired a bmw e30 convert 1993 k reg with a 325i engine conversion

basically need some help!!!

car seems like its misfiring, loosing power when i try to accelerate, theres a really loud squeeling noise coming from the engine, if its on idle car seems to be fine sometimes sounds like it wants to cut off, the exhaust sounds like its blowing when it looses power

ive taken the car to mechanics around my area that i kno of but seems to me that they have no idea abt what there doin

if anyone has any advice please let me kno

or if anyone is a e30 specialist and is within the east london area please inbox me, would really appriciate for anyone to come have a look at the car and see if these issues can be resolved,

Could the squealing noise be air being sucked in somewhere?

I had the same thing happen just now on my way home from work. Help pleeeaaase somebody.

Problems I was aware of prior to this:

Thermostat had gone (engine was staying cold on 20 mile journey)

Camshaft needed changing (wouldn't rev over 4100 revs).

The misfire that is now happening all the way along the rev range sounds pretty similar to the misfire that would happen if I hit 4100 revs.

I'm guessing camshaft has finally given up, but haven't even opened the bonnet as it is pissing down with rain at the moment.

EDIT: for clarification, mine is a 318i.

Is the squeeling the alternator?

Isnt the squealing normally the belt in this kind of weather it always squeaks especially if u dont let it warm up or push the revs up! If its that it prob needs replacing or tightening

Where are you located, there are several zoners that repair E30's for a living that may be able to help.
