Chrome bumpers

Hiya, can anyone tell me please if chrome bumpers from a 1987 saloon will fit my 1989 saloon?, and what year did the facelift model come in?

plastic bumpers came in around 1987, with exception to the cabriolet which had them up until 1989/90
chrome bumpers won't fit an 89 tintop

Pity i prefer the chromies, the plastic/rubber strips on mine need replacing any ideas please?

So replace them! Readily available from BMW, but not cheap.
