Hi Jimbob

What is the throttle body? Does this need to be replaced when adding the chip? What do these chips retail for?

THE THROTTLE BODY IS WHAT REGULATES THE AMOUNT OF FUEL WHICH IS RELEASED INTO THE CYLINDERS, THE BIGGER THE BODY THE MORE FUEL YOU GET CAUSING BIGGER EXPLOSION RESULTING IN MORE POWER.

A CHIP IS NOT ALWAYS NECCESARY BUT DOES HELP COMPLIENT IT, IT WILL MANIPULATE THE TIMING OF THE SPARK WITH THE ADDITIONAL EXTRA FUEL

sorry thats not totaly the corect explanation...

the more the TB is big , the more air you can get in , the more fuel youcan then diliver to get a good explosion, but the main thing being geting more air in.... 8)

So does this mean there's no increase in fuel consumption (maybe even a decrease due to more complete combustion)?

Or is more fuel injected due to the higher amount of air?

Ackcherlly...

A bigger throttle body doesn't necessarily supply more air, as ultimately that's governed by the AFM...
